Remembering a Philadelphia Icon

Cima and the Philadelphia Phillies teamed up to put together a special pre-game tribute honoring Peter and Paul Hlywiak.

This heartwarming father and son story centers around the Phillies’ replica Liberty Bell. The bell was originally installed at Veterans Stadium, prior to the Phillies’ 1983 season, and now has a new home welcoming fans at the third base entrance gate.

Cima’s team, along with Paul Hlywiak, helped with the restoration and refurbishing of the bell. During dinner one evening, Paul told his family about the work he was contributing to the refurbishment of the bell. To his surprise, Paul’s father, Peter Hlywiak (a life-long Phillies fan), shared that he had taken part in the original finishing of the bell in 1982!

During a special pre-game tribute, we commemorated the late Peter Hlywiak and the legacy between father and son that has brought this iconic landmark to life!

The Phillies invited the Hlywiak family out to remember and honor Peter and the special contribution he made to an iconic symbol for Philadelphia.
