We’re thrilled to announce that Cima has been recognized in the Signs of the Times Sign Contest, winning in the category of ‘Best Signshop-Designed and Fabricated Sign, Internally Illuminated‘ for our work with Skechers in Vancouver.
This award is a proud reflection of the creativity, technical expertise, and collaboration that went into transforming Skechers’ bold brand vision into a striking, dimensional storefront experience.
Our design engineering team played a crucial role in the project’s success. To ensure the perfect balance of dimension, finish, and lighting, the team created multiple prototypes to test paint sheen and element depth and shape.
These studies allowed us to fine-tune the visual impact while ensuring durability and consistency across the facade. In addition, the team developed a modular system for the facade. This modular approach streamlined installation, made ongoing maintenance more efficient, and provided a scalable design framework that could adapt to future needs.
The finished facade features a layered aluminum background with edge-lit and beveled acrylic segments. Bitro Tracer LEDs are integrated within the raised segments and PrincipleSloan Synergy Mini LED Modules are illuminating the Skechers letters, providing this storefront a vibrant, eye-catching presence in one of Vancouver’s busiest shopping centers.
This project was brought to life through true collaboration and shows how strategic design, hands-on prototyping, and engineering precision can elevate a retail brand presence. We partnered with PM Signs, to ensure the final installation matched the original design intent down to the smallest detail. By pushing beyond standard solutions, we were able to deliver not just a sign, but a dynamic, modular branded environment that brings Skechers’ identity into the physical world with impact.
