Celebrating Sign Manufacturer’s Day & Inspiring the Next Generation of Makers

Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating Sign Manufacturer’s Day, an incredible initiative from the International Sign Association (ISA) that shines a light on the careers and opportunities within the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry. We were honored to welcome ISA leadership, three local schools, and more than 30 students who came to learn what a career in sign manufacturing can look like. From design and project management to fabrication and installation, students got a close-up view of how creativity, skill, and teamwork come together to shape the visual world around us.

Throughout the day, team members from every department shared their stories and passion for what they do. Students got to see firsthand how a concept evolves from an idea on paper into the illuminated signage that makes an impact for brands and communities across the country.

For the visiting teachers, the day reinforced the importance of connecting education with hands-on career paths. These moments matter. They bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, and they help students envision futures within their own communities.

At a time when skilled trades are more important than ever, we believe it’s essential to show the next generation how meaningful and rewarding a career in manufacturing can be. It’s not just about making things. It’s about solving problems, creating something lasting, and being part of something bigger. At Cima, we believe that craftsmanship is not just about what you make, but what you make possible. Every weld, print, and installation tells a story, a story of people who take pride in building something together to improve experiences nationwide.

To the students who joined us, thank you for bringing your curiosity and energy! We hope you left inspired to explore a career that lets you design, build, and make your mark on the world.

And to our amazing Cima team, thank you for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm. You show every day that craftsmanship and innovation go hand in hand.

Here’s to the makers, builders, and dreamers who bring ideas to life—and to the bright future of our industry.
