When you’re partnering with a client, it’s more than just good communication. It’s really looking out for their investment by understanding what your particular needs are. A subject matter expert will drive value for you instead of just processing your calls.
When a tech goes to site with a certain scope of work, there is an acceptable time that it should take them to get that done. Just because they’re checked into a client’s IVR system doesn’t mean that they’re working efficiently through that. It’s really important to look at the number of hours compared to the work completed and make sure that that’s in alignment.
For me, the labor matrix was developed over years of experience of knowing and working with really strong field techs to know on average, it takes X amount to change out a power supply. Now there could be extenuating circumstances, which can then be explained.
When a service call comes in, looking at the history, knowing if you’ve been out there before, what type of sign is there, what the components are? All of that historical data helps the current service call so they bring the right equipment. . A dedicated, stocked service truck can address the SLA the time that you have to complete the service call, having them ready, gets the job done on the first time it eliminates additional trip charges. It avoids the negative impact you have when your brand isn’t lit.
Asset tagging gives them the ability to monitor the age of the asset, how long they’re going to last. So knowing where it is on its life cycle will help you make better decisions of when it’s time to repair versus replace.
There’s an awareness around the overall warranty for the asset. I’m not sure that there’s the same level of awareness, that there are components within the asset that carry additional warranties, and you really need to partner with someone that’s watching out for that and making sure that they’re driving that value to you, that they care about looking for ways to save you money.
